French Club
(Le Circle Francais de LaGrange)
Le Circle Francais de LaGrange is an organization dedicated to the
preservation of the French language and the Cajun French culture of Louisiana.
Made up of both current and former French students, the club participates
in many activities and field trips, culminating in the annual State French
Club Convention (ALCFES).
The club's seven officers must be enrolled in a French class to be elected.
The meetings are conducted in French and English. Le Circle Francais de
LaGrange has been a LaGrange tradition since its inception in 1975.
Speech Team
Ms. Tesa Pace
LaGrange consistently has one of the largest and most successful co-curricular
speech programs in the state. Students compete successfully in a variety
of speaking, debating, and acting events while developing critical thinking
and oral communication skills, meeting (and defeating) top students from
around the country, and having a great deal of fun. Future leaders around
the country participate in speech and debate more than in any other academic
activity. Students with a 2.0 or better GPA and an interest in competing
in such areas as debate, public speaking, acting, and interpretive reading
are good candidates for our Speech Team. Contact Ms. Tesa Pace.
