2008-09 Gatorette Dance Team Information Sheet

The LaGrange Gatorette Auditions will begin on March 3^rd and end on March 7^th  in the Auditorium at LaGrange Senior High School.  Tryouts will begin at 3:10 p.m. sharp and ending at 5:00 p.m.  The schedule for tryouts is listed below:

On Tuesday, March 18, a MANDATORY parents’ meeting will be held in the LaGrange cafeteria at 6:00 p.m.  We will be reviewing the constitution as well as fitting and ordering uniforms at this time.  Anyone who does not attend this meeting will be removed from the squad. 

Requirements to tryout:

• A signed permission slip turned in by Thursday, February 28, 2008 at 3:30 p.m.  (ROOM 221) I will not accept any applications after the due date.  ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS

• An overall GPA of 2.0 or 70% average is needed in order to tryout.  A Copy of your REPORT CARD must be submitted.

• Proof of Insurance/KidMed/etc.

• Proper Dance Attire: Tank top or sleeveless shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes with socks.  NO CUT OFF JEANS.  Anyone not in attire will be asked to leave.

•  No Jewelry of any kind

• Mandatory attendance to camp in the Summer.

 All girls will be chosen by a panel of judges’ scores and teacher recommendation scores.  The number of dancers will be determined by the sponsor and the scores.    Auditions are closed to the public.  No one may video the audition.

Financial Information:

The approximate cost for being a dancer is $750.00.   The cost includes all camp, uniforms, pep clothes, dance warm-up, shoes, and rain gear.   Fundraising activities will be announced at a later date.  The final total costs can not be determined until uniforms are ordered and the exact prices are totaled.  Fees must be paid according to the following schedule: 

Ø      1^st payment       $          250.00             March 31

Ø      2^nd payment      $          250.00             April 31

Ø      3^rd payment      $           250.00             May 28

Total    $   750.00             ** Failure to pay balance by date will result in removal from the team.**

Parents:  Please accept this as the official notice to prepare for the financial obligations.  The first payment is not due for approximately one month.  If you feel you are unable to meet the financial obligations of the dance team, please do not allow your daughter to try out.  It would be truly disappointing and heart-breaking if your young lady makes the team but has to decline due to finances
