Distributive Education Clubs of America (DECA)
Ms. Barbara LaBauveDECA is an organization of students who are enrolled in the Distributive
Education program at LaGrange. This cooperative education program offers
on-the-job training for retail, wholesale, and service occupations. Students
attend classes in the morning, and they are placed in jobs for the afternoon.
Students receive three credits for successfully completing the course. In
addition, DECA offers members the opportunity to compete in such areas as
advertising and marketing projects.
Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA)
Mrs. Frida WelteIFBLA is a national vocational student organization for students in high school who are interested in business or business education careers. It provides the business leaders of tomorrow with the necessary skills to successfully compete in the job market, pursue postsecondary education, or manage personal skills. Over 7,000 students in more than 200 high school chapters participate in Louisiana FBLA. LaGrange FBLA competes at McNeese State University for District Competition and in Baton Rouge for State Competition.
